Flavour is a complex sensory experience that is perceived through the sense of taste and smell. It refers to the unique combination of tastes, aromas, and textures that are detected by the tongue, nose, and mouth when we consume food and drink. Flavor is an essential aspect of our daily lives, and it plays a vital role in our eating habits and preferences.

There are five basic tastes that our taste buds can detect, which are sweet, sour, salty, bitter, and umami. However, flavor is not just about taste alone. It is also influenced by factors such as the aroma of the food, its texture, and even its appearance. Aroma is detected by the olfactory system, which is responsible for our sense of smell, and it can greatly enhance or diminish the overall flavor experience.
